But this skin lightening products are harmful in the long run. Most contain dangerous chemicals such as hydroquinone, corticosteroids or mercury which leads to thinning of the skin, damage of internal organs, they can also affect new born babies when used during pregnancy. However there are natural products that can substitute these creams and can work better for your skin.

1. Papaya herbal soap.

Papaya or pawpaw mainly grows in tropical areas, it contains papain which has powerful exfoliating properties that removes dead skin cells as well as rejuvenates dry and flaky skin. It deep cleanses it leaving your skin soft and radiant. Papain protein dissolving properties helps unclog pores, removing dirts and it’s good for treating acne on the face or other areas. It’s one of the best skin toning properties.

2. Lemon.

Apart from helping in weight loss, lemons contain vitamin c and citric acid and are antibacterial and they are good for treating black heads, acne, and brightening of the skin with time. It’s not advisable to apply it directly onto your face but you can mix lemon juice with honey and apply to your face, leave it for 20 mins and wash it off with warm water. You can also mix lemon juice with egg white and brown sugar and use it for exfoliating your skin. To make wax, you can mix lemon juice, honey, and brown sugar, cook it and leave it to turn warm before applying it on your skin. Don’t leave it to turn cold because it will solidify. You should moisturize often when using lemons because they contain citric acid.

3. Tomatoes.

Lycopene contains the most antioxidant properties which is good for treating acne, large pores, soothing sun burn and revival of dull skin. Tomatoes lightens blemishes, brightens skin and give you a natural glow. You can apply a tomato paste on clean skin leave it to dry and wash it off with warm water. Tomatoes contain vitamin c which is not only good for skin but also health wise.

4. Cucumber

Cucumber contains vitamin c and caffeic acid. it’s very useful to the skin, because not only does it tighten skin but it also brightens and whiten skin. Cucumber is also very useful for puffy eyes as well as dark circles. It’s also used to treat blemishes and dull skin. You can slice up the cucumber and apply it directly onto your face for short term effects or you can blend the cucumber with other important skin natural products such as ovacodo, spinach, kiwi into a smoothie to give you a glowing skin over time.

5. Turmeric.

Turmeric contains ani-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which is good for treating blemishes, large pores and acne. Turmeric can also be used for treating scars (acne scars), and stretch marks it also helps in weight loss and delays aging. It can provide a natural glow to skin. To use it, you can mix a teaspoon of ground turmeric, curd and mineral water. Apply it on to the affected area leave it for 20 mins and wash it off with cold water.
